Know the SCI Release Date
The date an individual is released from a state correctional institution (SCI) is determined by the Department of Corrections, NOT the Board of Probation and Parole. Inmates are notified of the actual release date and are permitted to share this date with their family, friends and attorney(s) as soon as possible.
Release from an SCI to parole community supervision is not immediate when an inmate receives a Board Action that grants parole. There may be several release requirements that need to be completed before an inmate is released to parole supervision. Each SCI has institutional parole staff who will go over what steps apply to each individual case. Inmates are also given an estimate of how long the release process may take.
Inmates must remain misconduct free. Any detainers or new charges may delay or invalidate parole release.
There is no online location that provides the dates of release for inmates within the Department of Corrections or the Board of Probation and Parole.
